Eifel Star, designed by Hans-Werner Guth, is the next in my rings and wreaths series. I am not really sure what I feel about this model. It is simple enough to fold and assembling them is also pretty easy. But the model was not too steady for me. Week 02 (Day 02): 3D Rings

The next rings that I want to talk on are the 3D rings that have suddenly fascinated me! I tried a few of these rings and I loved how they came out! If you haven’t tried out 3D rings, you should give them a go. They really make lovely decorations! So here is the Mette’s Ring, the Sun Dial and the Square 3D Ring. Sun Dial

The last of the 3D wreaths that I tried was the Sundial, also called the Woven Wreath, designed by Christine Edison. The wreath is made from 20 modules and each module fits into the next perfectly. Though Mette’s 3D ring is my favourite, this is also a beautiful model to work on. I am not sure that so many colours in the ring is the way to go. I guess it would have looked much [Continued..]

The next 3D ring that I tried is the Mette’s Ring. The Mette’s rings were created by Mette Pederson. She has published 7 books based on the Mette Units. This is actually a 2D ring, made from 18 modules. But a slight variation in the last fold makes it a 3D variation and is made of 12 modules.
